You study the complex determinants of public health and how these influence the development of policy and practice. Throughout the course you are encouraged to apply acquired knowledge and skills to persistent public health problems. The course: equips you with knowledge of the theories, concepts, tools and techniques for public health facilitates knowledge translation from academic public health to the promotion and protection of population health and well-being enables you to evaluate policy and practice and challenge orthodoxy in public health as appropriate develop further your skills in planning, designing and independently managing a research project.
