TOEFL The Test of English as a Foreign Language is required for non-native speakers of English. Requests to waive the TOEFL requirement or for permission to be admitted with the intent to take the exam upon arrival will not be accommodated. The minimum acceptable TOEFL score for admission to this program is 620 (105 for the new iBT version), which is higher than the University of Oregon minimum.Minimum Score: 575 (Paper) or 88 (Internet-Based). NOTE: Some departments require a higher score. Scores must be less than 2 years old at the time of application.International Graduate Employees (GEs) in teaching positions are required to prove their spoken English proficiency by way of the SPEAK Test or the speaking component of the internet-based TOEFL or IELTS. Students for whom the TOEFL/IELTS is waived for admission to their graduate program are still subject to these requirements if they are placed in teaching-related GE assignments. IELTS We will also accept the IELTS in lieu of the TOEFL. Our minimum score requirement is 7.5.Minimum Academic Score: 7.0 overall band score. NOTE: Some departments require a higher score.
