TOEFL
Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT. FOR ENTRY INTO PROGRAMMES FROM JANUARY 2016 ONWARDS Standard level: Overall score of 92 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening.Good level: Overall score of 100 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening.Advanced level: Overall score of 109 with 24/30 in reading and writing and 20/30 in speaking and listening.
IELTS
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic Version. This test is UCL's preferred English language qualification.Standard level: Overall grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the subtests.Good level: Overall grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the subtests.Advanced level: Overall grade of 7.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in each of the subtests.

There is a section in the application form for you to enter a personal statement (3,000 word character limit) or attach a statement as a separate document. The personal statement allows you to express your motivations and suitability for the programme you are applying to.
You should consider the following questions when writing your personal statement:
why do you want to undertake the programme or research?
what are your academic interests?
why do you wish to study at UCL?
what educational experience do you have?
do you have any relevant work experience?
have you completed any extracurricular and voluntary activities relevant to the programme?
what are your career aspirations?
Some programmes request that you supply programme-specific information in your personal statement. To check if this is relevant to your programme please consult the relevant programme in the Graduate Prospectus.
Your personal statement should be no longer than two sides of A4 paper.
Fee
There is a £75 application fee for online application fees and a £100 application fee for applications submitted in hard copy for all Masters degrees. This fee is non-refundable.
RL
Ideally you should be submitting two academic references; however we will accept one reference from an employer. If you have been out of academic life for more than five years we would accept two employer references if an academic reference is impossible to obtain.
Transcript
A transcript is a breakdown of marks you obtained in each course/module you took at University.
Your University will be able to provide you with this. If you are currently studying please provide a transcript of the past two years marks.
If your transcripts are not in English you will need to provide an official translation. This can either be through your University, the British Council, the British Embassy or an official translator.
If you are unable to provide a transcript a copy of your degree certificate will be accepted.
If you are a current UCL student please print off your current marks from your PORTICO record.
If your University can only provide a hard copy of your transcript UCL will accept a scanned copy of this.
