The University of Alabama may be considered for conditional language admission if he or she does not meet the minimum TOEFL score requirement of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL or 79 on the iBT, 59 on the PTE and/or does not have an admission test score
IELTS
The University of Alabama may be considered for conditional language admission if he or she does not meet the minimum 6.5 on the IELTS or 59 on the PTE and/or does not have an admission test score
GRE
300 (total combined Verbal/Quantitative subscores)

The Graduate School provides general recommendations for statements of purpose concerning length (1-2 pages) and substance (treatment of your background, reasons for pursuing the graduate degree program, and goals after graduation.
In discussing your background, you might mention experiences, interests, activities, and/or achievements that helped shape your personal aspirations and subsequent endeavors. If your reasons for pursuing the MA in Communication Studies relate to study or research in any of these areas, you should mention this fact. Likewise, if there are specific faculty members in Department of Communication Studies with whom you would like to work during your graduate education, this should be mentioned as well.
As you discuss goals after completing your degree, it would perhaps be useful if you described how you think achievement of your goals would be facilitated by graduate education in Communication Studies.
Fee
The application fee is $65 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents and $80 for international students. Please note that application fees are non-refundable.
