The graduate programs are designed to give students a great deal of flexibility in crafting a curriculum that meets their professional goals. M.S. degree candidates are chosen for admission based on readiness to be academically successful at the graduate level while making significant contributions in the research program of a faculty member. Graduate students are authors on original publications, present their work at scientific conferences and mentor undergraduate researchers. Graduate courses are generally small, with individual attention for each student. Furthermore, our graduate students gain valuable experience as teaching assistants in undergraduate laboratory classes. Our graduates are exceptionally well prepared for their choice of doctoral programs, careers in industry, and acceptance into medical school.
