The School of Industrial Engineering offers graduate instruction leading to the degrees of Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (M.S.I.E.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). In order to earn the M.S.I.E. degree, the student must be a graduate of an engineering curriculum. Students who received their previous degree(s) from an institution in the United States must have graduated from an ABET accredited curriculum. Graduates from non-engineering curricula obtain the M.S. Degree.
Purdue's School of Industrial Engineering continues to offer one of the nation's preeminent Ph.D. programs, providing research concentrations in human factors, manufacturing, operations research, and production systems. Ph.D. students are encouraged to participate in multi-disciplinary studies and multi-cultural educational efforts.
Our focus is to expand IE's role in addressing 21st century grand challenges, pursuing industrial frontiers, and designing and building the enterprise of the future.
